Conservatories

Conservatories

Miniature conservatories are great fun to imagine and create. I like to find unusual containers in which to create them. These can range from candle lanterns, to light fixtures. Some of the plant containers are caps from toothpaste tubes, colone, and comrcial coffee creamers they serve in restaurants. Much of the foliage is made out of small bits of artificial flowers re cut, painted and flocked with dyed sawdust. Most of the tree and large shrub structures are actually dried flower stems from daylillies and hardy hybiscus that grow in my garden. Topiary trees are sweet gum seed pods, dried painted and mounted on twigs. Some of the clay flowers, tulips, iris, lilies etc I find on line then work into the arrangements. All of the wicker plant stands are my hand made creations.
