The Dining Room

The dining room was one of the very first rooms I built using mahogany scraps from my dads workshop to create the wainscotting and the furniture. The wlls are hung with wide peach silk ribbon with fine gray silk ribbon creating the stripes. The mahoganu dining table compresses to a circle when you take the center leaf out. You can just see the wooden runners under the table. The rugs and seat cusions were all stitched on 38 guage silk mesh with DMC Medici Tapestry wool. These were some of my first miniature embroideries. The large porelain bols on the table is a piece by Elizabeth Chambers, a NH miniature potter. There are many other samples of her wok among the rooms in my ocllection.
